# Programmable Inbox

> The open-source, receive-first secondary inbox for developers and AI agents. Spin up a real email address in seconds, then read, filter, extract, and automate every message it receives — via UI, REST API, MCP, or webhook. Self-host it or use the managed cloud.

## What it does

- Create a persistent, addressable inbox in seconds (e.g. `you@mail.programmableinbox.com`) instead of wiring up a mail server.
- Every message is parsed, categorized (OTP, promo, updates, alerts), and mined for OTP codes, magic links, and other useful data automatically.
- Query and manage the inbox from a UI, a full REST API, or an MCP server — so an AI agent can create addresses, read and reply to mail, and pull extracted codes/links through tool calls instead of custom email plumbing.
- Automate on arrival: forward matching messages or fire a webhook the moment they land.
- Open source (AGPL v3) and self-hostable, or run on the managed SaaS.
